A FORENSIC post mortem is being carried out after a 56-year-old woman died in unexplained circumstances in Coventry police have today reported (Friday October 16).
Police have arrested a 20-year-old man in connection with the death.
Two ambulances and the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance Critical Care Car attended a property on London Road, Coventry at 7.20pm last night (Thursday, October 15).
The woman appeared to have suffered no signs of injury and a forensic post mortem is being carried out to find out the cause of her death.
A West Midlands Police spokesperson said: “We received a call just before 8.30pm last night (15 Oct) from ambulance colleagues reporting a woman who had died in unexplained circumstances at an address in London Road, Coventry.
“The woman, aged 56, was pronounced dead at the scene. There are no obvious signs of injury and a forensic post mortem will be carried out today or tomorrow in the hope of shedding light on how the woman died.
“A 20-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the death and he remains in police custody.”
A spokesperson for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: “We were called at 7.20pm to reports of a medical emergency at a property on London Road. On arrival we discovered one patient, a woman. Sadly, despite the best efforts of ambulance staff it became apparent nothing could be done to save her and she was confirmed dead at the scene.”
