Aldi's juice is the apple of Archie's eye

SUPERMARKET giant Aldi have sent out a special gift to eleven-year-old Archie Hammond from Coventry.

Archie has enjoyed Aldi’s Everyday Essentials Apple Juice for many years, and due to having additional needs, takes comfort in the routine and familiarity of drinking the same juice on a regular basis.

However, a rebranding of the product left his mother, Debbie concerned to introduce this change to Archie’s routine, so she contacted Aldi to seek support.

After hearing about Archie and his love of their apple juice, the supermarket were keen to help and arranged to send him a bulk delivery of 120 cartons to try the newly branded juice.

Much to everyone’s delight, the introduction of the new juice has gone down a treat.

Debbie Hammond, Archie’s mother, said: “Autism is all about routine and structure, so something as small as different branding or a slightly different taste can have a huge impact on Archie.

“When Aldi offered to send some of the new apple juice for Archie to try, we were so thankful for their help. I’m pleased to say that Archie is enjoying them – which is a good job given we have so many to get through!”

Julie Ashfield, Managing Director of Buying at Aldi, adds: ‘“When we heard about Archie and his love for our apple juice, we knew we had to help. We’re glad to hear Archie is enjoying the new recipe and hope he doesn’t get through the 120 cartons too quickly!”
