ALMOST £1,800 was raised when the Ansley Village Gardens opened their gates on June 27.
More than 170 people visited the plots throughout the day which was publicised beforehand in the Coventry Observer.
The seven gardens which opened, as part of the National Garden Scheme, all boasted different plants, varieties and styles.
Ticket sales generated £735 on the door and another £155 online. A further £350 went directly to Macmillan Nurses and £550 was raised from refreshments put on by a gardening group in Ansley.
Village organiser Janet Downe MBE said: “The vibe from it was the most important thing, and it’s created such a buzz around the village.
“All the gardens looked glorious and loads of people commented on how successful it was, with queuing up the road to get tickets.
“The weather was not sunny but it wasn’t cold and people were sat out in my garden having tea, cake and chatting – it was just a lovely experience.”
