Appeal for witnesses to Cheylesmore smash which injured man, 72

Police are appealing for witnesses to a collision in Cheylesmore yesterday when a pensioner was injured (September 21).

It happened in Black Prince Road at the junction of Arundel Road at around 4.20pm following a collision involving two vehicles.

One of the drivers, a 72-year-old man, was taken to hospital where his condition is described as stable. The driver of the other vehicle stopped at the scene and is assisting police with their investigations.

Sergeant Alan Wood said: “The investigation is in its early stages and we are trying to establish exactly what happened.




“We are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the collision to contact us.

“The family of the injured man are aware and are with him at this time.”
