NEARLY 500 children from 16 city primary schools braved the Coventry children’s mile as it made its return on Saturday.
The event saw students, teachers and parents turn up at war memorial park to cheer on the youngsters as they attempted to complete a mile.
The youngsters’ runs looked to raise cash for Team Coventry’s travel expenses as they head to the International Children’s Games in Daegu, South Korea next month.
Funds raised will also support local charity, Three Spires Family Support Trust.
Everyone who took part in the mile received a souvenir event t-shirt and certificate of participation.
This year’s children’s mile was part of the wider ‘Go Parks’ scheme, which aims to encourage schools city-wide to exercise in parks and green spaces.
