Arrests in Tile Hill after crime increase in area

Coventry Editorial 14th Jun, 2023   0

TWO police operations have been carried out in Tile Hill over the past few days after reports of an increase in anti-social behaviour and neighbourhood crime in the area.

An operation was carried out on Saturday (June 10) which led to a 53-year-old man being arrested and charged with two counts of robbery.

A 32-year-old woman was also arrested and charged with two counts of robbery and possession of an offensive weapon.

They both appeared at Coventry Magistrates Court and have been remanded until July.

A third man, aged 27, was arrested yesterday (June 13) on suspicion of taking a vehicle without consent, possession with intent to supply a Class A drug, driving without insurance and possession of an offensive weapon.

And a 43-year-old man was arrested on Jardine Crescent on suspicion of possession of a blade.

He remains in custody at this time.

Local Inspector Jerome Moran said: “This is a great example of the type of results we get when we work with the local community to address local issues that affect them.

“We would encourage the public to keep talking to us about issues that they are concerned about so we can continue to carry out this type of targeted activity in local areas.”
