Balsall Common Memory Café given cash boost

Coventry Editorial 22nd Nov, 2021   0

THERE were smiles all round when the Balsall Common Memory Café was handed a cash boost.

The café was given a £250 grant from Barchester Foundation and will be used to cover the cost of the Christmas party.

The voluntary-run Memory Café offers support for people living with dementia and their loved ones and offers monthly sessions filled with activities.

Barrie Cousins, one of the coordinators who set up the Memory café, said: “Covid has affected our ability to meet in person and also raise funds but we are now up and running and looking forward to seeing our Café friends once more on a regular basis.”

The café relies on donations from individuals and businesses and groups to cover their costs.

Meetings are held the second Wednesday of every month at Balsall Common village hall from 1.30pm.
