Berkswell Windmill to open its doors to the public on Easter Monday

Coventry Editorial 15th Apr, 2017   0

HISTORIC Berkswell Windmill will be open for the first time in 2017 this bank holiday weekend.

The windmill in Balsall Common will open its doors on Easter Monday (April 17) from noon until 4pm.

There will also be plenty of entertainment on offer including mini-stone for the children to attempt flour making, performances from the Coventry Weavers and Spinners and music from folk singer Bill Pullen.

Berkswell Windmill Radio will also be broadcasting live from the Mill and cream teas will be available on the lawn.

Built in 1826 but last used as a working Windmill in 1948, it is thought to be one of the most complete mills in the country – with all of its original machinery still in tact.

There is a small entrance fee which includes a guided tour of £3.50 adults; £1 under 16s and £8 family ticket.

All proceeds go towards the maintenance of the Mill on Windmill Lane.
