Bikers show their support for Dogs Trust

A NEW motorcycle club is holding its first charity event on Sunday.

The Tomahawks Motor Cycle Club has organised the dog food run to the Dogs Trust in Honiley in aid of the charity.

It launched recently for members with a passion for biking and raising money for good causes.

The run will leave the Horse & Jockey Pub in Corley at around 11am before taking as much food as possible – along with toys and bedding – to trust bosses.

Pets at Home and Just For Pets stores have given the event their support and it is hoped it will be run annually.

The club’s main charity event will be the Blood Sweat N Gears Custom & Classic Show, also hosted at the Corley pub, on Saturday, August 30.

A charity will also be chosen to support each year with member Phil Baylis being supported for his Sent from Coventry challenge to raise money for Zoe’s Place Baby Hospice.

He is aiming to hold another challenge after raising £17,500 by visiting cities twinned with Coventry for a charity challenge.

Tomorrow (Friday), Phil will talk about the action-packed trip – which included a horror crash and a broken shoulder – at Central Library. The free event takes place between 6pm and 7.30pm.
