Boy, 7, and dad injured in hit and run in Coventry

Coventry Editorial 25th Sep, 2018   0

A hit and run in Coventry left a seven-year-old boy and his dad injured.

Police are appealing for information following the incident in Coventry yesterday (Monday September 24).

A West Midlands Police statement reads: “A father and his seven-year-old son were struck by a white vehicle while crossing the A45 Fletchamstead Highway, near the Kenilworth Road junction around 4.40pm.

“The boy was taken to hospital with facial injuries and his 38-year-old dad suffered a leg injury.

“Officers are appealing for witnesses who saw the white vehicle – believed to be a van or people carrier – which made off down Cannon Park Road.”

Sergeant Mark Bull, from West Midlands Police traffic unit, said: “Fortunately, neither the father or his son were seriously injured.

“However, the driver of the vehicle would not have known this at the time and continued to drive off.

“We are keen to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time who may help us identify the vehicle involved.”
