CONCERN about a lack of security presence at Coventry Stadium has led owners Brandon Estates to secure the stadium ‘within the next 24 hours’.
Last week, travellers illegally entered the stadium’s grounds and allegedly stole metal and structural parts of the motorsports facility.
The Observer understands no attempt was made to secure the hanger doors – which prevent unwanted vehicles from entering the stadium – since travellers left the site on Sunday, June 11.
However Brandon Estates has since told us they are in the process of securing the stadium following concern on fans’ forums that the stadium may be set alight.
A Brandon Estates spokesman said: “We are aware and are in the process of securing the stadium within the next 24 hours.
“The site has a specialist security system in place as recommended by our insurers.”
