NEW BRITISH Speedway Champion Danny Kings has received a letter from Coventry’s Lord Mayor congratulating the Coventry Bees star on his recent success.
King was crowned national champion for the first time after beating Belle Vue favourite Craig Cook and teenage sensation Robert Lambert in Manchester last Monday evening.
King’s victory earns him one of the hottest tickets in the sport – the famous No.16 wild card race jacket at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium for the British Speedway Grand Prix next month.
The Lord Mayor, Councillor Lindsley Harvard, has sent his congratulations to King following his sensational victory in difficult, rainy conditions at the national speedway stadium in Belle Vue.
“I’m delighted for Danny,” said Coun Harvard. “I’m sure his family, friends and everyone at the Bees will be hugely proud of him and I wanted to add my congratulations.
“Coventry has such an impressive history of producing great speedway teams and riders and Danny has added his name in spectacular style.
“I’m sure he’ll do Coventry proud at the Grand Prix.”
