Broadgate to be bouncing when farmyard comes to Coventry next weekend

Coventry Editorial 29th Mar, 2023   0

BROADGATE will be bouncing over the Easter weekend with a real farmyard coming to Coventry City Centre.

The ‘Broadgate farmyard’ will be open on Good Friday and Easter Saturday, April 7 and 8 between 10am and 4pm.

Guests will be able to enjoy several free activities while also being able to get a taste of farm life, with real lambs, sheep, rabbits, chickens and ducks visiting.

All the animals will be able to be petted and guests can also watch while they’re being fed.

Entertainment will include country wisdom from Farmer Giles, while visitors will also be able to see Plucky the giant but friendly chicken.

Farmers Frank and Dave will be on hand with their chocolate egg-laying chicken and youngsters can take part in painting workshops using eggs from Coventry’s new prehistoric resident Dippy.

And there will be tractors on display from the Coventry Transport Museum to have your photo taken with while learning more about the machines.

Coventry City Council’s deputy leader Coun Abdul Khan said: “The Broadgate Farmyard is going to be fantastic for everyone in the city. It will be great for families with young children of all ages with the varied entertainment on offer.

“All entertainment and activities at the event are free which we hope means more families in the city have the opportunity to enjoy some festive activity during the Easter holiday.”

No bookings will be required for the Broadgate farmyard.
