Budding photographers encouraged to enter fresh competition

BUDDING amateur photographers in Coventry and Warwickshire are being encouraged to enter a major new photography competition.

‘The Best of Coventry and Warwickshire – a year in pictures’ has been launched by law firm Wright Hassall to celebrate its 170th anniversary.

Schools, colleges, amateur photographers and photography clubs are all being urged to submit photos of what they think is the best of Coventry and Warwickshire.

Five categories are available to enter – architecture, arts and culture, nature and wildlife, landscapes and Coventry and Warwickshire wildcard.

Winners will be named in each of the five categories for two age groups – under 21 and over 21.

The deadline for entries is Thursday (June 30) ahead of judging in July 2016.

Ruth Farrington, from the marketing team at Wright Hassall, said: “We’ve had some fantastic entries already and we’re really looking forward to showcasing the entries at a special exhibition in the summer.

“There’s still plenty of time to enter, we’re urging people with an eye for a good picture to share their best work with us.”

All finalists will be invited to an exhibition in Leamington in July where their photographs will be displayed and the winners will be announced.

The winner from each age group will each receive a Canon EOS 700D Digital SLR Camera.
