STAFF from across Coventry Building Society’s branch network and head offices raised over £3,000 for The Royal British Legion by taking part in their ‘Pedal to Paris’ challenge last month.

The team of six cycled an impressive 284 miles in four days and finished by cycling through central Paris with the other 300 cyclists before a moving ceremony in front of the Arc de Triomphe.

Team member, and Customer Service Advisor, Sarah Wells, said: “It was an absolute privilege to represent the Coventry whilst raising money for such a fantastic cause.

“The support from the other participants and the Legion Crew was phenomenal – I didn’t want the experience to end.”

Lorraine Tarrant, Branch Mortgage Advisor, said: “Pedal to Paris far exceeded my expectations, the welcome and support from the people in the French towns and villages and the camaraderie within the group was fantastic.

“It was highly enjoyable and a little emotional at times too.”

Charles Byrne, Director of Fundraising at The Royal British Legion, said: “It was fantastic to have six Coventry Building Society cyclists join us for Pedal to Paris 2015.

“I hope they enjoyed the challenge as much as I did last year and the money raised helps us to support the Armed Forces community all year round.

“The Royal British Legion supports Service personnel, veterans and their families, today and for the rest of their lives.”
