MORE shows have been announced as part of the Belgrade Theatre’s bumper spring schedule.

Headlining the season will be multi-award winning West End comedy The Play That Goes Wrong from Monday, March 19, until Saturday, March 24.

The show is back by popular demand following a sell out week earlier this year.

Co-written by members of the Mischief Theatre Company, The Play That Goes Wrong is a physical comedy packed with finely-tuned farce and Buster Keaton inspired slapstick delivered with split-second timing and ambitious daring.

This year marked its four year in the West End, and more than 250,000 people have watched the show worldwide.

Elsewhere, the world premiere production of Black Men Walking will take to the B2 stage from Wednesday, February 7, until Saturday, February 10, as part of its UK tour.

Inspired by a real-life Black men’s walking group based in Sheffield, the show has been created by Eclipse Theatre Company in collaboration with Leeds-based rapper, singer, producer and performer Testament.

Dawn Walton directs this four-person cast show.

The soundtrack of The Proclaimers will be heard across the main stage from June 5-9 as Scottish musical Sunshine on Leith returns for the first time since 2010.

Tracks including I’m Gonna Be (500 miles), Sunshine on Leith, Letter From America, and I’m On My Way accompany this energetic piece of musical theatre.

Also featuring next year is A Pacifist’s Guide to the War on Cancer, which explores a new way to talk and think about illness.

Bryony Kimmings will visit the Belgrade Theatre’s main stage from February 14-17.

The moving show will look behind the poster campaigns and pink ribbons at the reality of cancer through song.

Noel Coward’s Private Lives will headline from April 19-21.

Full of razor-sharp wit and quick-fire dialogue, Private Lives first opened at London’s Phoenix Theatre in August 1930 to packed houses.

Since then, this charming comedy of manners has retained its remarkable appeal, captivating audiences all over the world.

There will also be plenty of family entertainment as Horrible Histories’ More Best of Barmy Britain hits the stage from May 30 until June 2.

There will also be an interactive – Easter themed – sing-along show on April 13 and 14 while Dear Zoo will visit on April 6 and 7.
