Businesses and charities to lend a hand to Coventry sleepout

Coventry Editorial 7th Aug, 2022   0

MUSICIANS, restaurants and charities have all put their names forward to support people taking part in this year’s St Basil’s Coventry sleepout.

McDonald’s franchisee John Kiely MBE will be supporting homelessness charity St Basil’s by providing a hot breakfast to everyone taking part in the sleepout.

John, who owns and operates six restaurants across the city, will be supporting St Basil’s sleepout for the sixth year, while charity Langar Aid will be providing free Indian food and musicians against homelessness will be playing live music.

The event will be taking place on October 7 in the ruins of the old Coventry Cathedral and asks everyone to sleep rough for a night to raise money to help prevent young people from becoming homeless.

Anyone is welcome to attend, with a cardboard box being provided for participants although people can bring more as well as a sleeping bag and a plastic cover.

There will be a prize for the ‘best dwelling’, which will be judged on the night.
