A CANCER scare prompted a Coventry couple to take centre stage on popular BBC antique show Bargain Hunt.
Shaun Evans Bent and his wife, Lea, were recently selected to star on the hit show.
Former journalist Lea’s scare with breast cancer prompted the pair to apply for a place on the show.
Shaun said: “After Lea went through her treatments and came out the other side, she decided she wanted to do things she wouldn’t have before.
“It had been a bucket list thing for her to do something like this, so we applied. We were over the moon when we were selected to be a part of the filming.
“We spent a good amount of time walking around and searching for items we liked. Lea was adamant that we choose a newspaper stand, so we did.
“For our ‘expert’s challenge’, we had to choose something that reminded us of childhood and that was quite hard, but good fun to reminisce.”
