Carer helps proud grandma watch grandson tie the knot

Coventry Editorial 28th Aug, 2017   0

A CARER drove nearly 20 miles to ensure a proud grandma could watch her grandson get married.

When Mrs Askew, 81, from Coventry, was invited to the wedding at Stoneleigh Church, her family asked care service Home Instead, if a carer would accompany Mrs Askew to the ceremony.

Senior caregiver Sally Brook – who was described as an exceptional caregiver with a big heart – was more than happy to drive the 19 miles to the church.

Daughter Karen Williams, sent a heartfelt letter to the team, thanking Sally and her co-workers for helping her mother get ready and taking her to the service.

She said: “When I saw Mum after the wedding to take her some flowers and some wedding cake, she said she had enjoyed the wedding service and was so glad she went.

“I’m so very grateful to Sally in assisting mum and ensuring she felt comfortable enough to enjoy the beautiful wedding of her grandson. Sally was really good and we are so grateful for the support, care and attention given to mum so she could make it to the wedding.”
