THE COST of an adult single ticket on the National Express in Coventry will be increasing to £2.90 from January 5 2025.
All other ticket prices and passes will remain the same as the government’s new scheme begins on January 1.
The bus operator’s single tickets will be cheaper than the government’s revised single bus fare cap of £3, up from £2.
Antony Goozee, bus strategy and commercial director for National Express, said: “Bus is by far the most popular form of public transport across the West Midlands and we are proud to provide affordable bus travel for passengers across Coventry and the wider West Midlands communities that we serve.
“From 5th January our single fares will be cheaper than the government’s £3 single fare cap and all of our other fares remain unchanged – providing a range of great value tickets and passes to suit our customers’ needs.”
Customers travelling on National Express Coventry buses before January 5 in the new year will be charged £2 per single journey.
