PUPILS at a Coventry college will be seeing some new sports equipment in their lessons thanks to a charitable grant.
The General Chairites of the City of Coventry donated £1,000 to Hereward College to help pay for additional sports equipment not covered by statutory funds.
Hereward is a college for young people with disabilities and additional needs, and has been working with external coaches and a range of local sports partnership bodies over the last 18 months to increase the number of sporting opportunities available to students.
Matt Berry, Sports Activator at Hereward said: “We are delighted to have received this extra funding towards sports equipment. “Sports clubs are a crucial part of our extra-curricular activities at Hereward and it’s fantastic to be able to offer the young people at Hereward the equipment they need to participate in a whole range of sports activities.”
