Charity event to add some Glitz and Glamour

Coventry Editorial 21st Aug, 2022   0

COVENTRY and Warwickshire Children’s Charity (CWCC) will be bringing its Glitz and Glamour Ball to the Building Society Arena on Friday, September 23.

The fundraiser aims to help vulnerable young children across Coventry and Warwickshire and has raised more than £1million since launching in 2005, including £100,000 in 2021.

All the money raised from this year’s event will be invested in therapeutic provision to support victims of abuse.

It will be the first event held since CWCC began operating as a standalone charity, having previously been associated with the NSPCC.

Over 400 seats have already been sold for this year’s event, which will feature entertainment and live music.

There will be live and silent auctions as well as a diamond challenge, where three boxes can be bought containing a message that the recipient has won a ring, necklace or earrings.

CWCC trustee Hamilton Bland said: “Amid a global pandemic, we were still able to break our fundraising record last year and that is testament to the support we have in the room on the night.

“The event wouldn’t be possible without the support of the business community in Coventry and Warwickshire and we hope they will come out in force to raise vital funds once again.”
