City fire crew help Coventrian Ivy - who fought blazes in the Second World War - celebrate her 101st birthday

A CREW from Coventry Fire Station surprised a centenarian when they turned up to help Ivy celebrate her 101st birthday.

Ivy, a volunteer firefighter during the Second World War, welcomed the station’s Red Watch who bought her a special gift.

Among the crew and presenting the gift was one of the station’s current female firefighters.
