A CITY man who has worked tirelessly for over 30 years to support a number of charities, has become the latest Good Citizen.

Kenneth Holmes has spent 32 years helping some of the most vulnerable people in our society by serving as Board Member, Chair and Vice President of the YMCA and as well as international positions supporting a variety of charities.

In addition to this, Kenneth has served as Chair of the Trustees of St Andrew’s Residential Care Home, and Chair of The Rotary Club of Coventry.

Currently, he is the Chair of the Building Advisory Board at Coventry University which provides a critical overview of the various degree courses and needs of the Construction Industry.

He has been heavily involved in the care and preservation of the 1,000 year old St Mary Magdalene Church in Wyken.

Part of the citation stating the reasons why Kenneth received the Award, states: “Kenneth has not only provided support to many deserving causes in Coventry, but he has helped to support the very fabric of the city through his devotion to the built environment,

thus proving beyond doubt that he is a true Good Citizen of Coventry.”
