City restaurant bounces back from poor hygiene rating to secure five-star status

A RESTAURANT bounced back from a poor food hygiene rating when it was awarded a five-star status.

Hard work paid off for Cosmo’s of Coventry when it achieved the highest rating possible – having been rated at just one star earlier this year.

James Brion, who runs the Corporation Street world buffet eatery said the rating had given the team a new lease of life.

Acting on the poor score, the restaurant replaced its management team, put new systems in place and invested thousands of pounds on new equipment.

Mr Brion said: “At the time we were disappointed with the outcome of the inspection but we were confident that the work we had undertaken would result in us regaining our five stars.

“Our five star rating is the result of us spending a significant amount of money, making immediate changes to our team and overhauling our entire hygiene protocol.

“Now that we have our five star rating customers can eat here confident that everything they see has been cooked and prepared with the highest possible hygiene standards.”
