City's museums announce a packed Easter schedule

Coventry Editorial 3rd Apr, 2017   0

FAMILIES in Coventry won’t have to hunt for fun this Easter after a list of Coventry Museums announced a full programme of events.

Brand new science bite creative experiments will be taking place at the Transport Museum and families will be able to explore the science of optical illusions.

This includes Disappearing Colour Wheel, kaleidoscopes and more.

They’ll be plenty to do throughout the museum with an interactive area available in the hot rods and kool kustoms exhibition – and a motor trail to explore the site.

The Herbert Art Gallery’s choice of activities include clay modelling, UV masks and printmaking – inspired by artworks from the portraits exhibition, Face to Face.

Visitors can even meet some of the characters from the exhibition or take on the History Detectives Trail to find out more about the portraits of local people.

There’s a break out play area for under 4s to keep the whole family entertained.

Older children can dip into the world of film production with the two-day Introduction to Animation.

From cut-outs to stop motion, the hands-on animation workshop is aimed at 11 to 14-year-olds.

Meanwhile at the Lunt Roman Fort younger visitors can enjoy creating their own shiny card and foil coins, inspired by actual coins discovered on site.

Visit www.theherbert.org, www.transport-museum.com, or and www.luntromanfort.org for more information about the events.
