COVENTRY will be one of the areas involved in the Global Climate Day of Action tomorrow (Saturday, November 6).

Events are being held up and down the country to coincide with the COP26 climate change summit happening in Glasgow this week.

The activities are aimed at highlighting the need to take local action across the world to address both the climate and nature emergencies.

A march will take place from 10.30am (assemble at 10am) from Broadgate to the city’s railway station, via the High Street and Council House.

Also present will be Zarah Sultana, the MP for Coventry South, Jane Nellist, the President of Coventry Trades Union Council and

Anne Patterson, the Co-ordinator of the Coventry Green Party.

Chris Crean from West Midlands Friends of the Earth said: “It’s great to see so much going on across the West Midlands as COP 26 plays out in Glasgow.

“Irrespective of whatever comes out of COP26 taking local climate action will remain a key part of what we will all need to be getting involved with if we are to address the challenges that affect us all.”
