COVENTRIANS will be able to get creative while keeping warm this January with the Cosy Creatives project.
The ‘Cosy Creatives’ project allows visitors to enjoy inventive projects while staying in a warm space while eating hot food and socialising.
The project was funded by the Coventry City of Culture and runs until January 27, with the aim being to help people struggling with rising energy bills while allowing them to take part in fun creative events.
Creative events and workshops have included choir performances, poetry, African drama and dance, textiles, origami and board games such as chess.
The Cosy Creatives project will be taking place at the Anglican Chapel, Coventry Central Hall and Foleshill Community Centre.
And on January 28 there will be a ‘Cosy Creatives’ closing celebration event.
Coventry Central Halls community and business development project manager, Ade Johnson, said:“We’ve been doing surveys with those who have come along and they are so happy and grateful.
“We’ve had examples of homeless people who have been able to sit down and enjoy our events and they feel these workshops are like a prayer answered for them.
“So many people of all ages and backgrounds have been joining and we want to help so many more.”
