Coventry actress makes her silver screen debut

COVENTRY actress Raj Shoker makes her silver screen debut alongside star Indian actress and model Sonam Bajwa in the Panjabi movie Jind Mahi which is released today (Friday, August 5).

Shoker has presented the official Punjabi music chart since 2019, having started out as a vlogger at 16 from which she gained a large online following.

She got her big break in the music video ‘Udaarian’ alongside Satinder Sartaaj, which amassed over 200million views on YouTube.




Since then, she has become one of the most well-known Brit-Asian personalities, regularly featuring in concerts, red-carpet events and arena shows.

Shoker stars alongside Bajwa, Ajay Sakaria and Gurnam Bhullar, exposing her to some of the most famous names in the Indian film industry.


Jind Mahi is billed as a ‘romantic comedy which will fill the air with love and have everyone swaying and foot-tapping to the melodious tunes’.

The film’s producer and creative director Manmord Singh Sidhu said: “Jind Mahi is not just a film, it’s an emotion.

“White Hill Studios is also elated to introduce Raj Stoker as the second leading lady of the film.

“The cast and crew have put in their best foot forward and we hope everyone loves the film as much as we did making it.”

Shoker has been filming another movie, alongside Gippy Grewal and Tania, which will be released soon.

The film can be viewed in Coventry at the Odeon Skydome cinema.
