Coventry among worst places in UK for car theft, new research reveals

COVENTRY has been ranked the sixth worst area in the UK for car thefts.

New research has revealed that Coventry is one of the top areas targeted by car thefts with 439 thefts in the 2023/24 financial year.

With a population of 343,300, there are roughly 1.28 car thefts per 1,000 people.

The research showed black cars were the most commonly targeted vehicles, accounting for over 17,000 thefts in the last 12 months.

The Ford Fiesta tops the list of targeted car models, with more than 6,000 thefts reported during the same period.

Nearby Solihull, Birmingham and Dudley also featured in the top ten worst areas in the UK for car theft.
