A COVENTRY author has teamed up with the vintage sleigh ride to deliver a festive treat to youngsters this holiday season with his new book, Help! Santa is a Robot.
Children who visit the sleigh ride at the Transport Museum will receive a copy of Aaron Ashmore’s latest story which is a follow up on his book, Help! Santa’s Sleigh Has Broken.
In the new book, Santa’s workshop is given a high-tech upgrade which includes a robot version of Santa.
When this Robot Santa malfunctions right before Christmas, it’s up to two brave elves to save the day and ensure Coventry’s Christmas is filled with joy.
Aaron has donated 10,000 copies of his Coventry-themed books to primary schools across the city.
He said: “The Sleigh Ride is such a magical part of Christmas in Coventry.
“I grew up with it, and now being able to create stories that add a new dimension to that experience is really special.
“With Help! Santa is a Robot, I wanted to add a new layer of excitement and wonder for Coventry’s children, and teaming up with the Transport Museum to make it happen is a real honour.”
The vintage sleigh ride has been a tradition since 1956 in Coventry.
Matt Mullen, venue manager at the Transport Museum, said: “Working with Aaron to bring his Coventry-themed books to life at the Sleigh Ride is a delight.
“The Sleigh Ride is an essential part of Coventry’s Christmas traditions, and Help! Santa is a Robot will be a memorable gift that enhances the magic for young visitors.”
