A COVENTRY-based provider of inspirational retirement villages has appointed a new chief executive.
Mick Laverty has been welcomed into his new role which will see him lead ambitious multimillion development programmes which will see the construction of over 1,500 apartments in the West Midlands.
A chartered accountant, Mr Laverty was formerly chief executive of the Student Loans Company – a government-funded ‘digital exemplar’ organisation that distributes £15 billion per annum and has seven million customers.
The father-of-four has also held a number of non executive director roles in the public, private and charity sectors and is currently non executive director of Birmingham’s Hippodrome Theatre.
Mick said: “I’m impressed by ExtraCare’s clear vision to create better lives for older people, providing inspirational homes, award-winning care services and encouraging an active lifestyle.
“I am delighted to join the charity as it drives forward an exciting development programme that will meet the aspirations of many more older people seeking to enjoy later life in one of its villages.”
