FINAL RESULTS - Labour gains at Coventry City Council Elections

LABOUR retain overall control of Coventry City Council winning 14 seats today.

The Conservatives started the day with six seats and now have three.

Bea Christopher, new Labour councillor for Bablake Ward said: “I am in awe, being the first black councillor in my ward, change is coming.”

 

14.00 – Counting is now under way in the Coventry City Council elections.

We have been informed Radford has been postponed due to the death of one of the candidates.




 

14.11 – Counts are starting here at the Coventry Building Society, with voter turnout around 30 per cent across the 17 wards.


 

15.08 – Current national results – Labour up 98 seats across the country, Conservatives down 230, Lib Dems up 33, Independents up 74, Greens up 22.
