Coventry City Council's warning to retailers over 'salmonella' Kinder chocolate products

COVENTRY City Council has urged all retailers to take all Kinder products linked to a salmonella outbreak from their shelves.

These are believed to have caused many children to become seriously unwell, with many cases involving children being admitted to hospital.

Only some of the listed products were covered in an earlier recall case.

The updated recall includes all Kinder products that were made at the company’s Arlon site in Belgium between June 2021 and now.




Investigations have identified that some products included in the recall are still on sale.

The recalled products’ packaging may include might not refer to the Belgium factory and may have a different a different contact address.


The council said that it’s extremely important that retailers check products against the list in the recall notice so that customers are not being put at risk.

Products include:

20g Kinder Surprise packs (All dates up to and including 04 January 2023)

Packs of three 20g Kinder Surprise (All dates up to and including 04 January 2023)

100g Kinder Surprise packs (All dates up to and including 21 August 2022)

75g Kinder Mini eggs packs (All dates up to and including 21 August 2022)

150g Kinder Egg Hunt Kit packs (All dates up to and including 21 August 2022)

70g, 200g and 320g packs of Kinder Schokobons (All dates up to and including 04 January 2023)
