COVENTRY City Council posted a video on its social media channels showing fly tippers in the cities hotspots.
The video shows numerous times where people have illegally dumped waste, including mattresses and sofas.
As part of a new campaign called ‘The Wall of Shame’ the videos have been published to tackle the ongoing issue of fly tipping.
Officers routinely serve notices on tenants, landlords and landowners to clear their land and make repairs on their properties – last year they served over 900 notices and issued 250 penalties for waste related offences.
Coun Abdul Salam Khan, deputy leader of Coventry City Council, said: “Ensuring that our city is a fantastic, clean place for everyone who lives, works and visits it is a top priority for us.
“Every day our officers, residents, community groups and businesses work incredibly hard to keep our city clean, and the actions of this minority of people spoils that.
“Let me be clear, fly tipping is unacceptable and we will use everything in our power to stop it and prosecute those responsible. I encourage anyone who recognises anyone in this video to get in touch with us.”
