A GROUP of Coventry firefighters welcomed a special guest wanting a behind the scenes look at the work they do.
Councillor Bally Singh spent the evening with White Watch at Foleshill Community Fire Station learning about the firefighters’ prevention, protection and response work.
Coun Singh, who is Coventry’s lead member on West Midlands Fire and Rescue Authority, said the professionalism and expertise of the service was clear.
He added the modern fire service did so much more than putting out fires by helping to also reduce the risks in and around the community by making sure things such as vulnerable households were well-protected from fire hazards.
“West Midlands Fire Service is also working more closely with partners and sectors such as health,” Coun Singh said.
“It is such a brilliant asset for our local communities.
“Spending the night with the firefighters at Foleshill was an amazing experience, and I would like to thank them for being such kind hosts.”
