Coventry couple welcome little Prince of their own

WHILE the Duchess of Cambridge was taking over the headlines, Coventry families were making news of their own as they welcomed their own bundles of joy into the world on Saturday, May 2.

Five baby boys and five baby girls, born at University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire, will forever share their birthdays with the youngest royal – Princess Charlotte.

And Eastern Green residents, Elizabeth Allaway and Luke Swift, were just one of the couples who welcomed a new arrival.

Following 16 hours of labour, Jesse Swift, was born at 2.01pm via emergency cesarean at the Walsgrave-based hospital – weighing in at a healthy 8lbs 5oz.

Speaking about her newborn son’s notable birthday, 24-year-old mobile hairdresser, Elizabeth, said: “It is something special to look back on in the future.

“I’m proud to have shared in the moment of the Royal birth in some way.”

But, that’s not the only royal connection in the family – with little Luke’s cousin sharing a birthday with Prince George.

Elizabeth and Luke had a newsworthy day of their own when newborn son, Jesse, was born on the same day as Princess Charlotte. 18.015.012.cov.jm1
