Coventry dates to audition for Royal Wedding choir project have been announced

Coventry Editorial 16th Mar, 2018   0

DATES to audition for a choir project that aims to give disabled people a chance to perform on TV ahead of the Royal Wedding have been announced.

As we reported in January, Sandra Godley is calling all those over the age of 18 who have endured anxiety, physical disabilities or depression to find strength through song, and join a nationwide ‘Gosp-Ability choir’.

Auditions for the choir will be held on Saturday (March 24) at Coventry Cathedral between 10am and 2pm.

They will be broadcast on the BBC’s The One Show.

Sandra is hoping to enlist between 15 and 20 singers from across the UK.

They will perform on Songs of Praise on Saturday March 31, in the assembled choir’s first performance.

They will then prepare to sing on The One Show in honour of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding on May 19.

Sandra was inspired by Prince Harry’s ‘Heads Together’ campaign.

The project is supported by the Royal Foundation and is a partnership with experienced charities that provide frontline mental health support to people, while raising awareness and tackling stigma.
