TWO shotguns and a revolver were found inside a holdall at the Coventry home of a city drug dealer, alongside ammunition and class A drugs with a street value of £35,000.

Police raided the home of Raouf Houri, 41, of Swan Lane, Hillfields, on April 22. Also in the same room were more drugs, bringing the total street value to around £35,000, along with £21,500 in cash.

Houri pleaded guilty to possession with intent to supply class A drugs but denied any knowledge of the firearms, so he was brought to trial on Monday (October 19).

He refused to attend court as the trial began, but on the second day, with the weight of evidence against him, he changed his plea to guilty.

DC Scott Gould, from force CID, said: “Houri revealed at court that he had a £400 drugs debt and because of this he had been asked to hold the firearms, drugs and cash.

“He is now paying a heavy price for the errors of his ways, but not only that, we will be seeking to recover more of his ill-gotten gains under the Proceeds of Crime Act.”

Houri faces nine years behind bars after he sentencing this week at Warwick Crown Court.
