Coventry events cancelled or postponed as mark of respect to Queen Elizabeth II

FOLLOWING the passing of The Late Queen Elizabeth II, a number of events in Coventry were cancelled or postponed as a mark of respect.

Last weekend MotoFest, Cycle Fest and several Heritage Open Day events and tours were postponed.

This Saturday’s Coventry Tour and Sunday’s Literary tour have also been cancelled.

King Henry VIII School was due to offer a tour of the site first built in 1885, but that too has been cancelled.

An archive history of Riley motor cars, including a replica of the first car designed by Percy Riley in 1898, due to take place at Coventry Canal Basin throughout the week has not gone ahead.

And next Sunday’s War Memorial Cenotaph Chamber of Silence at War Memorial Park has been scrapped.

Sikh Union Coventry has postponed its 35th annual Guru Tegh Bahadur ji Charity walk, which was due to take place on Sunday.

The walk, which will raise funds for Bowel Cancer UK, the Lord Mayor’s charities and Sikh Union local and international projects, will be rearranged in the coming weeks.
