TEN Coventry venues and events have been shortlisted as finalists for the 2023 West Midlands Tourism Awards.

The awards see 33 of the region’s top businesses compete in 14 categories, with the winners being nominated for the VisitEngland Awards for Excellence.

The ceremony will take place at Wolverhampton’s Grand Station on March 16.

Coventry’s recently renovated St Mary’s Guildhall is one of two nominees up for the Accessible and Inclusive tourism award, while the Coventry Building Society Arena has been shortlisted in the business events venue of the year category.

Both the Telegraph Hotel and The Reel Store will be competing for the New Tourism Business Award and Coventry Cathedral will be vying for the Large Visitor Attraction of the year.

Dhillon’s Brewery is among those nominated for pub of the year and Albany Theatre is competing with two other businesses for the resilience and innovation award.

The HMV Empire will be trying to claim the small visitor attraction of the year award and the Barn at Berryfields will be hoping their food is voted the ‘taste of the West Midlands.’

And Coventry’s City of Culture year is in contention to be named the year’s best Tourism event and festival.

Last year, tourism contributed £10.1billion towards the economy in the West Midlands, attracting 102.3million visitors.
