COVENTRY construction firm the Deeley group will be raising the roof and vital funds for a local charity with its annual charity band night.

The third annual charity band night at Village Hotel will be raising funds for Shine A Light on Friday, November 17.

Shine a Light provides support services and a supportive community to children with cancer and their families.

Last year’s event raised a record £10,000 for The Myton Hospices last year, with the hope being to surpass that total this time around.

Singer Sarah-Kathleen Owen will be the first act of the evening, before a raffle and auction featuring a range of prizes donated by local companies.

Edison, a four-piece band from Coventry, will also play rock and indie classics.

Sam Schoolar, CEO of Shine a Light, said: “We’re extremely grateful to Deeley Group for choosing our charity and the money raised will make a huge difference to the work we do.

“We are always looking to work with businesses, whether that is volunteering or hosting events, and everyone at the charity is super excited for the Deeley band night.

“It is set to raise an amazing amount and as a grassroots charity it will help support us in the months ahead to continue to support children and their families.”
