A COVENTRY flooring company has celebrated its 60th anniversary, since first opening in 1964.
Amtico is a market leader of vinyl flooring in the UK.
Over the past six decades, the company has designed and manufactured floors from its headquarters in Coventry.
Amtico’s flooring can be found in more than 130 countries around the world.
From the timeless allure of stone and wood to the avant-garde appeal of abstract patterns, Amtico has a diverse portfolio.
Through fundraising events and volunteer support, Amtico has contributed to numerous local organisations, including Birmingham Children’s Hospital, Heart of England
Forest, Myton Hospice, and the ‘Make Good Grow’ foundation. Amtico has also launched two partnership collections with Europe’s largest conservation charity, The National Trust.
The company currently has 566 employees, with nearly 500 based in Coventry and Solihull and has longstanding employees like David Quinn, whose 47-year journey with the firm started as an electrical apprentice in 1977.

He added that looking in the future the company remain committed to delivering high quality, design led flooring.
“2024 marks Dave’s 48th year and my 21st year as CEO at Amtico, but more importantly it marks an impressive milestone for the Company as we celebrate our 60th anniversary.
“At Amtico, we are incredibly proud to provide secure employment for 640 people in our UK and European operations, most of whom are based in the Midlands and our Coventry factory.
“A true British manufacturing success story, we take pride in our floors, designed and made by our employees in the UK.
“Local production is, and always has been, at the core of this company.
“We also have a similar sized operation that we set up in the US 30 years ago, so span the globe.
“Amtico was founded in 1964 and our Coventry factory and headquarters has been providing employment to the local community ever since.
“We have a large number of employees who have stayed with the company for decades – with our longest standing employee heading into his 48th year of service.

“Amtico is 70 per cent bigger than it was 10 years ago, our priority is always creating beautiful products wit unparalleled quality and craftsmanship.
