Coventry Editorial 10th Jul, 2023 Updated: 10th Jul, 2023   0

A PAIR of artist indentical twins from Coventry have their latest artworks on display from July 19 to 29, writes Rebekah Lane.

The Jackson twins’ first exhibition for more than 10 years featuring works by Karl and Ian Jackson will take place at Rugby Art Gallery And Museum’s Floor One Gallery.

The pair will hold a ‘Meet the Artists’ event from 1pm to 4pm on Saturday, July 22.

The collection features a series of portraits focusing on the intricate world of human identity named ‘Dilplotreia: the pantheon of duality’.

The exhibition combines theory of archetypes with visuals inspired by Greek mythology.

As identical twins and proud members of the LGBTQIA+ community, the twins have a deep fascination with examining who they are and where they belong.

Working collaboratively on their art practice for more than 20 years, their work has been shown both nationally and internationally such as London and Sydney in Australia.

Karl said: “We aim to make the viewer reflect upon the multi-faceted nature of their identities and think about the roles they adapt as they navigate daily life.”

The exhibition can be viewed during the venue’s opening times between 10am and 5pm Tuesday to Friday, 10am to 4pm on Saturday. The gallery is closed on Sunday and Monday.
