Coventry job shop celebrates landmark anniversary

Coventry Editorial 17th Sep, 2023   0

COVENTRY’S job shop celebrated ten years of operating from the Bull Yard with a celebratory job fair event with over 30 employers attending.

The Job Shop first opened in Hertford Street in March 2012 as part of Coventry City Council’s Jobs Strategy to help local people find work.

After high demand, it needed to move to bigger premises in the Bull Yard the following year.

In that time, more than 53,000 Coventrians have registered and the team has supported over 12,500 people into employment.

Lindsey Hines, Events Coordinator and Employment Coach at the Job Shop said: “I am extremely proud of the Job Shop’s success. I absolutely love my job.

“It’s so rewarding seeing our customers who have barriers progress and watching our job coaches help them get to where they want to be.”

As part of the city centre south developments, the Job Shop will be relocating to a new unit in West Orchards, with more information set to be revealed soon.
