COVENTRY resident Shane Pelchat successfully completed the London Marathon, raising raised over £800 for Parkinson’s UK in the process.
The 24-year-old completed the 26.2 mile challenge in four hours on what was the final day of Parkinson’s Awareness Week, which ran from Monday (April 18) until the day of the marathon.
Shane joined a 230-strong team of runners who chose to support the charity regardless of their marathon running ability.
The charity aimed to raise £320,000 from the event to enable it to continue with its vital research work to find a cure and improve the lives of the 127,000 people in the UK living with Parkinson’s.
