A COVENTRY landlord has been fined for failing to provide information about one of their properties when asked to do so.
The authority served the landlord with a Requisition for Information Notice under Section 16 of the Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1976, and a Notice to Produce Documents under s235 of the Housing Act 2004 as part of its investigation into potential breaches of housing legislation.
The landlord failed to respond to both notices and last month was found guilty in their absence at Birmingham Magistrates’ Court.
They were fined £440 and ordered to pay £85 in court costs and a £176 victim surcharge.
