Coventry man, 40, confirmed as motorist in fatal tree crash

A 40-YEAR-OLD man from Coventry has been confirmed as the motorist who died after crashing into a tree near Ryton.

Warwickshire Police is calling for witnesses or information following the collision last Thursday (July 4).

At around 5.50am, a grey Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution was in collision with a tree on the A423, between the junctions of Hillman Way and Glenfern Gardens.

The driver of the car was sadly pronounced deceased at the scene.

His next of kin has been informed.

A police spokesperson said: “Investigating officers would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision, or saw any other cars in the area at the time and the manner in which they were being driven.

“If anyone has any information, or any HGV drivers have dashcam footage by the A45 Finham towards Coventry Tollbar Island between 5.45am-6am, please call Warwickshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 33 of 4 July 2019.”
