A COVENTRY man has been arrested for assisting an offender in connection with a Bedworth murder investigation.
The body of a man, 33, was discovered in a house on Bulkington Road, Bedworth, on Monday (May 6).
Police received a call at 1.25pm raising concern for the man and officers forced entry to the house where they found his body – which had suffered stab wounds.
A man, 35, from Bedworth was arrested on suspicion of murder on Tuesday (May 7) and he remains in police custody.
Another man, 33, from Bedworth was arrested yesterday (Wednesday, May 8) on suspicion of murder.
And yesterday afternoon officers also arrested a man, 39, from Coventry on suspicion of assisting an offender. He remains in custody.
Detective chief inspector Anna Middleton from the Warwickshire Police Major Investigation Unit said: “We are continuing our investigations to establish the circumstances leading up to the man’s death and identify those responsible.
“We have one man in custody who is continuing to help with our enquiries.”
A Warwickshire Police spokesperson said: “The post mortem and formal identification are due to take place tomorrow.
“A police cordon remains in place around the house.
“At this time, detectives believe the victim and offenders were known to each other.”
