Coventry man arrested on suspicion of attempted murder

A COVENTRY man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.

The 24-year-old along with a 20-year-old from Nuneaton, has been bailed until October as police investigate a shooting which happened on Monday (September 24).

A 38-year-old man was shot in the leg at a Nuneaton flat around 8.30pm in Merevale Court.

The man is being treated in hospital with potentially life-changing injuries.




Det Ins Neil Reader said: “We are continuing to investigate the circumstances of this serious incident in which a man sustained a gunshot wound.

“At this time we believe the incident was a targeted attack and there was no wider risk to the public.


“I would like to thank the public for their assistance so far and encourage anyone with information who hasn’t already spoken to us to get in touch as a matter of urgency, no mater how insignificant you think the information may be.”
